Delivering shelves to customers in Europe and the USA: Brand manufacturer TEEbooks has delegated its fulfilment to RHIEM, has its design furniture shipped from Voerde to all over the world and no longer even has to worry about customs and export issues.
Simple, functional, practical: TEEbooks supplies durable wall, bathroom and floor shelves made of steel to lovers of understated design. Via its online shop, which the Italian designer Mauro Canfori founded in Nice in 2009, the brand now delivers all over the world. TEEbooks is supported by RHIEM: “TEEbooks shelves fit perfectly with the purpose they are meant to serve and they do not push themselves into the foreground,” says Canfori. “That’s exactly how the relationship between TEEbooks and RHIEM can be described – customers experience fast, smooth delivery on our behalf and don’t even realise the goods aren’t from Nice.”
Customs and export requirements made easy
Whether they are going to Italy, Spain, the UK or France – TEEbooks shelves come from Voerde. This is where the brand manufacturer 2021 first relocated its shipping to German-speaking customers, and now its entire international fulfilment is centralised in Voerde: “In eCommerce, delivery speed is an important criterion for success; online customers want to reliably receive and be able to use their purchases within a few days,” says Peter Lorenzi, the company’s managing director. “Through partnerships and cooperations with logistics and fulfilment providers on all continents, we can deliver from Voerde to the whole world within a few days.” Where import and customs regulations hinder the cross-border movement of goods, as it is the case in the UK right now, RHIEM has also secured storage space with its partners to organise shipping to the customer locally.
TEEbooks’ wall, bathroom or freestanding shelves come in a variety of colours from Italian production. The simple steel furniture and matching lamps are stored, packed and shipped in Voerde. RHIEM also manages the returns of TEEbooks’ online shop and takes care of customs regulations and export declarations when shipping to international countries. Through cooperations with logistics companies such as UPS, Rhiem can even ensure delivery to customers in the USA within a few days.
More flexibility by networks
For this purpose, the fulfillment specialist organises express deliveries and air freight, but it also maintains warehouse space with partner companies in the USA and South America, which becomes interesting for online traders and web shops if the delivery quantities in a country increase or even faster transport routes are required. “Our structures are designed for growth and flexibility,” explains Lorenzi. “Through partnerships and networks we can offer our eCommerce customers the customised services they need for regional and international business.” It’s a strategy that has been proven particularly effective through Brexit: While RHIEM continues to ship to the island, the UK’s exit from the European Union has made shipping there more difficult and significantly more expensive. Thanks to RHIEM’s partner network in the UK, shipping and returns of TEEBooks’ design furniture can be managed cheaply, safely and easily for all parties involved. Companies can thus almost halve the costs for postal charges alone and also avoid the higher costs of import and customs.
This flexible business model is very well received by Mauro Canfori: The designer not only creates simple, functional TEEbooks shelves and lamps, he has also developed innovative plant containers and other beautiful everyday utensils under the Terracrea brand. Centralising fulfillment in one hand allows him to focus on design, branding and retail. “Everyone does what they do best,” Canfori says. “That’s also the advantage in design of contacts and networks that work reliably.”
